A college admission simulator
Uncommon App
Uncommon App is a game where you play as a college admission officer in a fantasy world. By judging one application after another, you alone walk the fine line between bankrupting a student’s dream, the school’s operation, or your own career.
Originally the Major Studio Fall project of my friend Keyi Li & Co., Uncommon App has become a full-fledged game developed over four months by a team of seven.
I am the main gameplay designer for this version of the Uncommon App. I also handled audio design, music composition, additional programming, and art.
Since its launch on itch.io, the Uncommon App has been positively received and even made the “New & Popular“ board in May 2024. A new update to the game is currently being developed with a team of six, including me, also taking up the lead artist role this time around.

S Rank Vol.1
S Rank is a collection of essays and art from students and alumni from the NYU Game Center, focusing on Game Studies.
I authored Rotó: The Inquisitive Drive as one of the first writers to be invited. It detailed an unexplored fundamental drive of play in the Cailloisian framework. I also peer-reviewed other entries in the journal and worked closely with graphic designers to figure out the layout.

Ghost Cohort
A cute auto chess
Ghost Cohort is an auto-chess game where the player builds a team of ghosts to battle against foes with ever-increasing difficulties. It was a three-week project for my Major Studio Fall course as a proof of concept.
I am one of a three-person team that developed Ghost Cohort. I was in charge of the additional gameplay design, UI, card, and logo graphics design, audio design, music composition, and writing of in-game text.

A game about raining
Overcast!
Overcast! is a simple game in which players control a cloud to extinguish fire by raining on them in a small arena. It was a one-week, single-person project for my Major Studio Fall course with the theme of “different forms of water” in mind.
I am the sole creator of Overcast! Except for the 3D assets and music. Credits go to Synty Polygon for making the models and Stijn Van Wakaren for the music.

A 3-player board game
Pet Apocalypse
Pet Apocalypse is a board game of commending your fluffy animal pals to survive the apocalypse while competing with your 2 other friends over the shattering board and limited resources.
During its production, I coordinated our team of four as the de facto project manager, pitched thematic and gameplay concepts, Oversaw playtest and iterated rules with gathered feedback, and finally produced and assembled the final physical components using 3D printers and a laser cutter.

Aglophotis Transit Hub
A mod level
Aglophotis Transit Hub is a mod level for 3D platformer collectathon A Hat in Time. It was made to participate in the 2019 May/June modding jam event in the A Hat in Time Discord server. I designed this level with verticality and fast-paced decision-making as core focuses.
Using A Hat in Time’s modding tool, I was able to design and implement this level using existing assets and music. I also did some level-specific custom scripting.
